The recent Onamalutu forest fire in Marlborough was brought under control by firefighters, aircraft and one scientist.
That scientist was Veronica Clifford from Scion’s Rural Fire Research Group, who is an expert at predicting fire behaviour as well as being a rural volunteer firefighter.
